Dyno Video: Watch A Totally Pissed Off Ford ‘Ute With A Twin Turbo Six Cylinder Make Nearly 900hp To The Tire!

Here’s further proof that turbos are pretty much the cure for all of the world’s ills and that the make every damned thing better. This video is from Australia and it shows a really clean (and pretty new looking) Ford ‘Ute with a 3.7L (destroked 4L) inline six that has been heavily modified and equipped with a a 55mm Garrett turbo. It sounds angry as all get out while making a bunch of dyno pulls at an unnamed shop. The car starts out making in the high 600s at the tire and by the last pull shown it is making more than 880 freaking hp at the rear tires out of  a measly 222ci! The shriek of the inline sixer is something to behold as well. At idle, the thing sounds bad ass but once you see it trying to rip itself clear off of the dyno, you know it is the real deal.

It is undoubtedly true that the hot rodding spectrum in the USA is getting more diverse. People are opening up more and more to less traditional engines (seeing lots more stuff with warmed up inliners, turbo fours, etc), less traditional body styles (four doors, 1980s stuff that was mocked for a long time, etc) but the Aussies have always seemingly had that culture because they’ve been hot rodding what’s available since the beginning. Remember that one of the most legendary factory engines down there is the famed Chrysler hemi six that powered some of their most legendary muscle cars.

We’ll always love our V8s and that’s a fact, but we’re way into seeing stuff like this ‘Ute, too. Big power is big power, no matter the wrapper. 882hp to the tires? Hell yes!!
