Video: We Talk Rings And Bearings With MAHLE’s Bill McKnight

Bill McKnight is the man. No really, the ACTUAL man! When you go to www.AskMAHLEClevite.com, and ask a technical question, the guy on the other end of the internet answering it is Bill McKnight. What’s extra cool about Bill is that he’s also an announcer like myself and Brian and he’s super cool to hang out with. While at the SEMA show we caught up with Bill and talked about all kinds of stuff, but two of the video interviews we did are specifically about Rings and Bearings.

MAHLE is the world’s largest manufacturer or Pistons and Rings. Yeah, the world’s largest. They make all of the pistons that are factory equipped in the hottest engines the big three have to offer, and make eleventy billion, or something close to that, rings each year. Not only do they make this stuff, but they are also the guys that are reinventing both rings and bearings for better power, performance, and efficiency. We have more videos coming with them that will talk specifically about their new 1 and 2 millimeter ring packages, and how they can make a difference in your hot rod or race engine, but until then check out this first one with Bill on rings in general.

In addition, we’ve got a video about bearings. Clevite, arguably the most well known name in engine bearings, is also a MAHLE brand and Bill talks about the bearings they offer, when you need a “race” bearing, and how to get your technical questions answered. One he mentions specifically is whether or not you can run an H series race bearing on a cast crankshaft. Watch the video and see if you are right.

If you want information on MAHLE, Clevite, or Victor-Reinz products, click here to visit AskMAHLEClevite.com and ask Bill a question. He’ll make sure you get the correct answer. Oh, and tell him Chad at BangShift sent you. He’ll just love that.

Mahle’s are new to me but I can tell you my 461 has the barrels loaded and we’re about to see what they’re all about.
