Ford In A GM: This Holden Ute Is Packing A 410ci Mill Stripped From A Sprint Car!

Ford In A GM: This Holden Ute Is Packing A 410ci Mill Stripped From A Sprint Car!

Bring up the whole “Ford Tough with Chevy Stuff” argument or suggest that 75% of the Fords still on the road are only there because of an engine transplant and you can watch the foam start to collect at the corners of the mouths of Blue Oval faithful as they quickly switch from rational human beings into walking, talking rage cases. Yes, there are a lot of Fords with GM powertrains. We will see plenty at LS Fest East here shortly. But if you dig into the annals of hot rodding as a whole, brand loyalty is regularly shoved out the window in favor of what works the best with everything factored in. Power, cost, return on investment, it’s difficult to really pin down a fault on a GM powertrain aside from the “bellybutton” argument. Notice that not many say the same thing about first and second generation Chrysler Hemi powertrains…

Well, if you are one of the raging members of the community who wishes that the castings for LS engines would be sunk in the ocean next to the DeLorean body stampings, here’s your revenge. 410 cubic inches of angry Blue Oval powerplant on methanol reside in the engine bay of Justin Bell’s Holden. Much like the NASCAR-engined machines we’ve seen in the past like the “BLOKY” Valiant and it’s R5P7 engine, the Holden rails on the upper end of the rev range while making a burnout look spectacularly easy.

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

    So what?

Even if its a Ford motor in a Chevy/Holden its still that stupid Aussie obsession with producing clouds of vile smoke which the crowd breath in and go and attack Kangaroos or something!
