Welding tables are one of those things where what you want and what you have room for, are usually two different things. I know, because I can’t wait to get my big shop done so I can build a bad ass fab and welding table, but for now there is no way to fit it into the space I have. We all dream of having one with a grid of holes for holding fixtures and clamps, big enough to build frame rails on, and heavy enough to hold anything and everything square and true. The other downside to those bad ass welding tables is the fact that they are not cheap. Sure you can get some of them cheaper now than ever, but they are still not cheap by a long shot.

This Harbor Freight table is $70 and with a few mods can be a pretty handy little welding table for most of what you do. I’m going to pick up one soon I think and do some mods to it myself. We’ll keep you posted, but until then watch this and see what you think.
