In-Car Wreckage Video: An 8-Second Integra Eats The Wall at 150-Mph

Evans Tuning is a high performance shop that focuses on the import side of the car hobby. They have a wicked little race car in the form of a highly modified Acura Integra. The video you are about to watch depicts a run in that car, the third full power run the car had ever made, actually. It runs 8.98 at nearly 170mph in the quarter mile and then stuff goes very bad.

As soon as the driver yanks the chutes, things look a little weird. Soon the car begins to head across the track and the dude in the other lane avoids a total catastrophe by milliseconds. The impact is very strong against the wall and apparently the car is being rebuilt for the 2012 season.

Pay close attention the run itself. The top end charge this car makes is mammoth. Once the driver pulls third gear it is almost like warp drive on Star Trek. He reels in his competitor and speeds toward certain disaster!

You’ll cringe when you see the wall coming like we did!

Just before he hit the wall did you see his competitor zip past? WOW ! Another second and there would have been a whole lot of ricer all over that track.

it looks like, as he reaches to pull the chute, he gets a little distracted and drifts left a little – recovering from that is where it goes pear shaped..

9 second integra is crazy. rice isn’t the proper term for a 9 second car. a whole shizload of work and money results in such a fast car.
