In The Pit: Hoonigan’s LS Fest West Playground! Burnouts, Drifting, Tire Destruction And Jumping!

LS Fest West is just as all-encompassing, just as unhinged, and just as wild as the LS Fest event in Bowling Green has been for years, no doubt. But there are three things that LS Fest West has that the Kentucky show doesn’t quite have. One is space…yes, we have Beech Bend and NCM Motorsports Park out here, but out there they have Las Vegas Motor Speedway…much bigger. Two, LS Fest West has a much larger contingent of off-road units, thanks to all of the desert-racing types that inhabit the American Southwest. And most important of all, within a reasonable drive are the mentally unbalanced types at Hoonigan, who took their show on the road quite literally, graffiti’d shipping containers and all. And they did exactly what you’d hope they’d do: they squared off a large area and cut every delinquent with a willingness to go balls-out loose to put on a show for the crowds. There are truck jumps. There are drifters and their wild-child siblings, the sideshow freaks. And there are burnouts that are getting a bit close to Aussie-level of insanity, with everything from some beaten-up Mazda trucks to that Chevette that spins like a top.

If you didn’t make it to Vegas, you’ve got the original LS Fest to check out September 7th-9th, 2018, courtesy of Holley. And yes, there will be a burnout contest again this year, and yes, we are certainly looking forward to the action!
