This is a great video because it is informative and tackles a subject that so many people have tackled over the years. As you well know, the latest Redline Rebuild for the Hagerty crew is a 4.0L Jeep engine out of their Cherokee project. Initially the plan was to simply rebuild the 4.0L engine and move along with things…and then the commenters got involved. It was shortly into the process where so many suggested building a 4.6L stroker version of the 4.0 that the guys at Hagerty figured that they ought to do it. So they are.

This video goes into the simple math of figuring out what pistons and rods to use along with their 4.2L crank in order to get things like the compression ratio correct. No, it’s not overly complex, but this is good old fashioned hot rodding at its finest. Thinking about building a Jeep stroker? Watch this.
