KABOOM! Gratuitous Burnout Engine Carnage, Straight From The Land Down Under!

Engines have limits, especially high compression, boosted mills. They don’t like having the driver stand on the pedal until the tires blow out. They really don’t do well with little to no airflow through the cooling system. And they certainly don’t appreciate a lot of time spinning at the upper reaches of their RPM limit….all of which are central points in an Australian burnout contest. It’s amazing to see how many engines actually survive these torture tests…a true Aussie burnout isn’t like standing on the pedal on a wet road and waiting for the tires to finally grab traction. This is abuse at one of it’s highest forms, and quite often the engine is prone to throwing the “f*** it, I’m out” card before barfing out the internals that just a second ago were spinning precariously close to 10,000 RPM. And at those speeds and temperatures, it’s less of a mechanical letdown and more of a violent, flaming end. YouTuber Flinty460 recently put together a collection of engines that have simply reached the end and decided to cry out, in one last shout that sounds something like a hammer smacking metal a thousand times over, that they were done. Remember, kids, the connecting rods are supposed to be inside of the block, not laying on the ground, smoking.
