“Regular” Car? Regular Car Reviews Gets Their Hands On A Might-Be-Faked Knight Industries Two Thousand!

I’m an Eighties kid. Television sets that weighted as much as a good small block, fake wood-paneled interior decor, leftover 1970s shag carpeting, and on and on. My memories prior to 1988 are thin, mostly because I was under the age of five, but I can distinctly tell you two things: I knew what K.I.T.T. was and I knew that my grandmother Pat’s 1984 Pontiac Firebird S/E was pretty much the same car, minus the beaky nose, Speak and Spell interior, and black-as-Knight paint job. As a kid, Grandma Pat’s Pontiac hauled ass and I loved riding around in the backseat. It’s amazing how time tends to jade your original views…if the Colorado winters didn’t eat that car alive, whoever she sold it to probably beat the royal hell out of it and it was probably in the crusher by the time I graduated high school. Even if it was still alive, a 305-powered 1984 Firebird was at best, a turd, though at least it was an aerodynamic one. But what about K.I.T.T.? Star cars tend to keep some semblance of magic about them, don’t they? It’s the reason why General Lee Chargers have multiplication rates that would shame rabbits, why DeLoreans automatically drop jaws whenever they are seen out in public, and why people would gladly fork over money for a 1976 Ford Grand Torino, so long as it’s painted red with a white stripe and sitting on slot mags. Does the Knight Industries Two Thousand hold the same kind of magic? Mr. Regular gets the chance to drive a converted car…no way to know if it is real or not…to see if he really likes it. Hopefully he looks past the fact that he nearly punches himself in the ding-ding every time he has to make a turn…

GIven the owner says he bought the stock car, then found the various parts online & installed them, it is made pretty clear in the video that it is a replica.
