Normally we bring you dyno videos of motors revving to the moon, motors making huge power, and motors that we could only dream of owning. This one is totally different! The owner of the engine said that he had this Y-Block built for a rat rot so major horsepower was not a requirement, just enough to scoot it down the road and have some fun with.
This engine has a great lope at idle and sounds pretty good when both of the one-barrel carbs atop a totally weird intake manifold are cranked wide open. The poster of the video claims 160hp at an unknown RPM and about 300lb/ft at 2900rpm. Not a world beater, but enough to have fun in a light little rod.
Hit the video and crank the speakers to hear the sounds of a 1950s era V8 roar to life!
