We can’t help ourselves. After seeing the Toyota van run itself to death we kept on searching for videos and found one featuring a Land Rover that had just been started for the first time after a restoration. Let’s just say that the party was short lived as the engine immediately began to run out of control and everyone ran for cover.
The part of this video that cracks us up the most is the obviously defensive position the camera man is in. He’s either crouched down or behind something to avoid engine parts headed into low Earth orbit. This engine may actually be running backward judging by the way that smoke is pouring out of the top of the motor and less so out of the exhaust.
Either way, this is bad news. Pay attention to the end of the video when the engine really gets noisy and the smoke goes from ash grey to ominous black. This is UGLY!
