Morning Symphony: Summernats 33 Dyno Runs – Big Power Through The Hubs!

Summernats 33 is wrapping up in Canberra, ACT, Australia. Over the course of a weekend that has seen the wildfires blanketing the area in smoke and in the middle of a heat wave that is pushing into the 120-degree Fahrenheit range, the gearheads came out in droves for Australia’s most notorious vulgar display of power. Without a doubt, the skidpad is the most infamous highlight from Summernats, but there is more than just tire after tire being sacrificed in the name of a rowdy good time.

The dyno hall is a place where those who claim the big figures can go ahead and with a live audience watching, prove the worth of their machine. Using hub dynamometers to eliminate wheelspin issues, the risk of a broken strap, or any other issue with traditional rollers, participants bolt up and send the tach climbing. How good is this? The first car you’ll see is an orange FPV XR6 Turbo…and it’s good for deep four-digit horsepower from six cylinders while looking all the while like a tarted-up Falcon and little else.

Good power never goes out of style.
