Sometimes the only real way to have fun is to just get full-on down and dirty and have a screaming good time doing it…and if your mind went anywhere else than to a mud bog, then that is completely on you. It isn’t technical by any measure and skill only does so much…success is thus left up to horsepower, the quality of the tires and luck. There aren’t many other places where you can rev your engine out as hard as you are willing to go and the only real worry you have is whether or not you have to get towed out of the mire you sank up to the axles in. This is Twitty’s Mud Bog in South Carolina, and it’s a serious pit: that isn’t watery soup. That is legit, “suck the boots right off of yer feet” kind of mud in the right spots. Perfect for a lineup of high-revving trucks and one lime green 5.0 Fox on anabolics to make a run on!
The Country and Western singer that looked like he was actually a working plastic model, Conway Twitty, was named after this place and Conway down the road.
Sadly he would have never gone near the mud bog as if one atom of mud had hit him he would have spontaneously combusted burning all the cars and trucks and roasting the spectators….
