Big tires, a sticky drag strip, and big power are the perfect equation for a big wheelstand. This Camaro proves that theory by climbing the ring gear right on the hit of the throttle. We’re guessing on the twin turbos because when the front end goes all Apollo 13, there looks to be a pair of turbos sticking up through the hood. The strip is stumping us because we can’t think of a track with a big cross over bridge like that on the top end.
One of the neat things about this video is the slow-motion replay at the end. It clearly shows when the driver is on and off the throttle trying the reel the Camaro in…unsuccessfully. The crazy thing about these boosted cars is that you can watch the guy pedal the car on the landing after the first hit and it goes skyward again immediately after he hits the throttle a second time…then again the third time.
Wheelie bars are a dirty word to lots of guys these days who take pride in getting a car to hook and book without them, but this guy could use a pair although we’re sure his header guy appreciates the work!
Check your belts and press play!
Portland International I think.
Turbo-lag….my ass!!!
Mall cop could’ve just smiled, wrote down their plate numbers, and then called the cops.
I did this every night of senior year of HS in the school parking lot when I drove my 77 Accord home from work. Though, we didn’t have a security guard.

By the way, this video was taken and was originally put on the internet by Scott James. See more of his stuff on Youtube at:sjvideoproductions.
What?! They weren’t hurting anyone, there was no property anywhere around them…
Ya’ know, it would be nice, just once, for someone to edit a video without adding stupid music that covers the beautiful sound coming the car!
A little more resolution would be nice, too.
Otherwise, wild ride, man!
This is my Street car. It was blown with nitrous just a few months before this vid was taken. This car was built for street racing at the time and saw alot of it. thats why it rotates on the axle so easy. ( it worked for me ) it ran ran 7.9x for the first time in 07 on e.t. streets. I still drive it whenever possible during the summer months.
its now a 25.2 3/4 frame rail car with a stock front end and still has a tilt wheel.
Thanks for watching,
Me
its just a street car old combo was 8-71 and nitrous this was within the first fifteen passes with turbo\’s and thats the pan going away! ( the headers go up ) it would buckle the pan at the block with a hard hit.
Its been running 7.xx since 07 on E.T. streets. still gets out whenever the weather allows.
Thanks for watching
