When the day comes that one of us ever lands in Australia…oh, readers…we might not sleep the duration of the trip. Of course we’d find a burnout contest and go blower-counting. Of course we’d have to go drive something we would have to wait another twenty years for before we could finally bring it into the States. But the amount of shops in the country that work on really, really cool stuff? Yeah…we’d be hopping speed shops like I used to bar-hop back in my Army days. Just roll up, look around, “show us your finest selection please, sir”, and move to the next one when you’ve taken in all that you can. I dream, I really do, because Australia seems like America, but with more legal issues and less inhibitions when it comes to the game of making absolutely stupid levels of horsepower.
This shop is Addicted Performance, and it’s based in Hallam, Victoria. Looking at the shop from the outside, you see a building that’s just slightly bigger than the garage door. What could possibly be going on in there of any notice? Heh…walk inside. Look around. Check out things. Then walk to the dyno cell and listen as this 611 cubic inch Hemi, destined for a Mopar E-body, gets romped on to the tune of 874 horsepower over and over. Sounds like the kind of place where we could get lost for hours! Now that’s how you behave like a tourist.
