First things first: do not take Marty, Moog or the cars seriously. Nobody is going to take a Saab 9000 or the car we know better in the States as a Mitsubishi Mirage seriously, and nobody is going to take three grand and turn it into a track monster. Well, unless they shove as many nitrous bottles in the trunk as will fit, turn every system to “kill” and try to make a pass before the inevitable, fiery explosion. Instead, view this as a cheap car challenge: what kind of mischief can a couple thousand dollars and cast-offs from the classifieds get you, and can you enjoy it? Neither car was anything too special…the Saab was a driver-quality car, and the Lancer was a former show car that had seen better days. Both cars pack a turbocharger, both are front-wheel drive and both get beat on like none other. From burnouts with KY Jelly to help the tires spin to a tray-slide drift challenge that involves a cup filled with watery tofu, the Saab (Wasaabi) and the Lancer (“TOO5XY”) get hammered in a bunch of fan-sourced challenges to see who did better. All we will say is at the end of the day, they are nearly identical in performance, but both cars have a personality all their own. And it might stink a little like tofu.
