The Parting Shift: Carl Tasca Banging Gears in the World’s Quickest Cobra Jet

BangShift is fortunate to have a great relationship with the Tasca family of Rhode Island. From NHRA Funny Car racer Bob Tasca III to Cobra Jet gear jammer extrodinare Carl Tasca, we’ve spent time with ’em all. In this video, you’ll see Carl hammering the hell out of his Cobra Jet down the all concrete quarter mile at New England Dragway in Epping, NH.

This is the quickest and fastest Cobra Jet in the country. In fact, we were sworn to secrecy on the numbers the car put up on this run, with the stock suspension it leaves the factory from. Ralph Porier is the man behind the tune up and has been involved with the Tasca’s drag racing exploits since the days of Bill Lawton and John Healey dominating the A/FX and early flopper days on the East coast and around the country.

How well do they have this thing dialed in? It whaps the rev llimiter at just about the exact moment the car crosses the timing traps. This baby absolutely hauls the mail and it sounds GOOD headed down the strip!

Press play to unleash the Ford fury below!
