The Upgrading Of The Mighty Car Mods’ Mitsubishi Continues With The First Fire And Turbocharger Fitting!

Maybe I’m digging the build of the Mighty Car Mods’ Mitsubishi Lancer more than I should. But why shouldn’t I? I love any project that takes a car nobody likes, puts genuine thought and effort into improving it, and comes out with a surprisingly good combination at the end. A Lancer/Mirage of this generation is already at the bottom of the heap…they were there brand-new. So the only way to go from there is upwards, and that’s what Marty and Al have been doing. After nuking the original engine in the car, a 2.4L mill from a late-model Lancer was yanked and stuffed in, but it’s a MCM car…a turbocharger was naturally the next logical step. Here, you’ll get to hear the MiVec mill fire off and watch as Marty and Al get to the business of plumbing up a scratch-built header and setup for the turbocharger. Which, according to the ominous warnings of friends, means that this block will spit a rod out in short order. Or, as Marty hints at, maybe he’s just getting a load of crap just because he’s building a 1990s Mitsubishi Lancer. I’ll keep quiet once this thing runs a low 14-second quarter mile. Until then, let’s watch the build continue!
