This 1,036hp Toyota Supra Is Legitimately Nasty, Well Engineered And Violent – 780RWHP On The Safe Tune!

Do not see “Supra”, think “Fast and the Furious”, and skip to the next story…you will miss out on one hell of a build. From the front, it looks like most any other 1986-1992 A70-series Supra with typical custom touches: an intercooler visible up front, aftermarket wheels…not much to really take away from the car. Start walking around it and notice the details: a no-shit rollcage inside, heavy duty Recaro racing seats. Keep walking around to the back…yep, that’s a parachute, and yes, those are drag radials. This is Duane’s Supra, and it is the real deal: 780hp on a pump-gas street tune, 1,036hp at the wheelsย on full-kill with nitrous out of a 7M-GTE block…nope, no 1Jz or 2JZ under this hood. This is a deadly serious race car that is still street legal and is docile enough that it can be driven long distance from it’s home near Vancouver, British Columbia…one such trip took the Supra down to Southern California, nearly 3,000 miles. Whether you love it or hate it, fast is fast, and well-engineered speaks for itself.

Always thought the MKIII Supra looked way better than the MKIV. Keeping the 7M is neat, no 2JZ or LS-BS to detract from the awesome.

Supra MKIIIs are dope. And wow, that’s some serious power for the 7M-GTE, considering a lot of people write that engine off as a boat anchor
