Drag Week gasser ace Keith Fox posted this amazing video (that we think he actually shot) on his Facebook page yesterday and our jaws have not come up off the floor yet. As Fox lives in the Lubbock, Texas area, we’re going to make the assumption that this vast array of rusty and awesome iron is also in said Lubbock, Texas general area. When you can drive by someone’s “collection” at near highway speeds and not pass it for nearly a minute, that means we’re talking about a one mile long column of “stuff”. This particular column of “stuff” is comprised of trucks that range in size from classic half tons to vintage big rigs, cars that start at stuff like Nash Metropolitans and get bigger from there, vintage signs like an old KFC bucket and drive-in piece, and a whole lot more.
This is no Lambrecht collection of 1950s and 1960s cars, this is trucks from big to small. The old half tons would bring good money because they are a hot commodity these days with everyone from street rodders to pro touring builders. The old school buses, medium duty trucks, and rigs are not exactly in the “desired” list of classic cars and trucks to buy (unless your name is Brian Lohnes, in which case they blow the needle off the end of the cool-meter). Apparently this collection of stuff and its owner were featured on the hit television show American Pickers recently. Rightfully so, because of all the cool stuff we can see from the highway driving by, we can only imagine that the visible buildings are chocked to the rafters with stuff we’d gnaw an arm off to own as well. According to Fox, none of this stuff is for sale. Oddly, we understand. We wouldn’t want to part with any of this stuff either!

I’ve been watching him collect these over SEVERAL years. I’m not sure how he gets the cream of the crop, but most are. He’s been approiced alot about selling and nothing ever leaves. Someday there will probably be an auction, but until then, just drool. It IS in Texas not too far from Lubbock. To keep people from pissing him off, I’ll keep the location secret.
Was this place on American Pickers recently?
Nevermind, I replied bfore reading the article….
YES
I am familiar with this area and know exactly where they are located. I am checking with a local attorney to see if it would be against the law to publish his address. If it’s ok I will put it on every craigslist location all over the USA. Then maybe the dumbass will see some or all. You know and I know he will never do anything with them……….
Trolling? I’m starting to understand what the term means. I totally understand what it is to see this kind of thing, i.e.; hoarding. It really isn’t about if the person doing it or what their intention is….sane…..it’s about why are people just assuming that it’s o.k. to invade their privacy and take it upon themselves to photograph these places and make it seem like it’s now their right to control the situation!?? The big auction that just occurred in Nebraska is just the beginning of things to come…
Man I wouldn’t do that. They’re his to do with what he pleases. You wouldn’t go to a car show and expect everyone to sell you their cars, would you? Same here. This is his car show (and a show for everyone who drives by). Let him be. If they were mine, I’d keep them too!
Sorry Gus I agree with Scott. It is a free Country, and he is entitled to his privacy
Gus… Mind your own business. He doesn’t have to do anything with his stuff if he doesn’t want to. I HATE people like you. This man has EARNED HIS money and has the RIGHT to do what ever the hell he wants to with it, to include buy cool stuff and let it rot.
Love those COE´s…..btw, let the man have his toys.
I know of a few places like this with either big trucks or farm equipment. I even know a GMC dealership that has kept all of their Big Tow rigs dating back to the 50’s and they wont sell anything?
I probably would not bother asking him if I could by something, but I sure wouldn’t be bashful about asking him if I could take a closer look! I like that aside from the vehicles and display items there isn’t a ton of junk and clutter. It is really pretty cool.
And I totally agree; these vehicles are his to do what his chooses with. He doesn’t “owe it” to anyone to sell one piece of his collection.
Wow ,that’s quite a collection. I agree with some of the remarks above – he obviously considers it some sort of yard art and that’s fine, his decision. If he is happy to see them rot – leave him alone after all they are his to do whatever he sees fit.
But I wonder what will happen when he passes and his family are left to deal with all that yard art?
A few years ago we were tipped off to a similar collection at a old timber mill – obviously the family didn’t care for old cars and trucks. They could only see the value of the property and the cars where considered scrap. By the time we got there we were greeted by the sounds of a crusher and mid to late 30s and 40s cars crushed almost beyond recognition.
We were pointed in a direction of the property the crusher hadn’t been and got a few bits off some cars but were limited with time.
HUGE SHAME when most people see old car collections as scrap only.
And we have all heard the stories from 70 to 80 year guys how they are gunna restore them – I usually remark – you must be going to live to be 300 LOL
AMERICAN PICKERS WENT PICKING AT THAT GUY.
fregin pretty cool
It’s probably his IRA. No 1099’s and the value goes up…..hopefully!
