Outside of the Lagana boys, our favorite Top Fuel pilot is Terry McMillan. He’s been sponsored by Amalie Oil for ages, has competed in Alcohol Funny Car and Top Fuel simultaneously in the past, and now will make the full NHRA Full Throttle tour in 2011. That’s a huge leap to make for both Terry and Amalie as a sponsor. This is a guy who just really loves to race and is the type of guy that would have no problem sitting down and drinking a couple frosties with the guys like a normal dude.
We used to have the full contact job of interviewing McMillan on the top end when he was an IHRA fuel pilot. To say that he’s a little high energy after going 300mph, would be like saying that the nuclear bomb explosions in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were mildly destructive. Hell, he’s barely hanging onto his sanity during this interview from Palm Beach International Raceway pre season testing!
