We have to thank Aussie BangShifter John Tearle for the tip on this massive 1970s smoke machine from his homeland. The car is called Undead and it is a mid-1970s Aussie Ford LTD hearse. It seems that Chrysler and Ford were sharing design notes at this point because we thought for sure it was a Chrysler Cordoba until we looked into the car a little more and discovered it was a Ford. No matter the make, it is absolutely awesome, huge, and capable of sending tires to an early grave. (Groan…I had to). The engine is a supercharged mill that sounds like a big block to us, but we’re not 100% sure if it is a Ford or Chevrolet. Hey, maybe it is a Cleveland in there. Someone can set us straight. The body and paint are immaculate and the capper is that there is a real deal casket in the back. Because this is Australia, we’re going to surmise that there isn’t a dead person in the casket, but let’s be honest here. The way those guys roll there could be two dead bodied in there.

The car’s humongo proportions makes it pretty entertaining to watch on the burnout pad and it swings some really majestic donuts as the driver boils the tires to the point that they explode. We have no idea what the actual wheelbase is but LOOOONG is a fair estimate. The driveshaft must be a sight to behold and has to be two, if not three pieces. One thing to consider is because of the huge size of the car and the amount of smoke, the driver really has to pay attention to where the walls are when he swings the monster around. He comes close to swiping a couple of times but never hits anything as best we can tell. We’d actually feel bad for the barrier if this battleship contacted it!

Anyway, we love big stuff and in Australia, they don’t come any bigger than this in the burnout contest world!
