Video Bonanza – Here’s a Collection Of Videos Featuring Cars With Big Cams Idling Roughly – Ford, GM, Mopar, AMC, All Here!

We know, we know, just because some rig comes rolling by you at a car show with a stumbling, rumbling idle from the world’s biggest camshaft doesn’t mean it makes lots of power or is very fast but there’s no denying that it sounds good. This is a collection of videos featuring Chevys, Fords, AMCs, and Mopars rumbling away at idle with a lot or perhaps too much camshaft for their engines. Are we lame for digging the sound? Maybe we’re stuck as perpetual teenagers in our automotive tastes but that’s our problem not yours. Watch the videos below and listen to these boulevard bruisers, race cars, and trucks angrily snort and rumble as they idle.

With the improvement in modern cylinder heads will cams get more tame or will they continue to get nastier and nastier to take full advantage of the sewer pipe type flow numbers that they are generating?

To respond anything other than a good blending of them both smothing but ruply enough to torqx some one off at the same time.. it seams doing the wame thing over and over is insanity or gteat experiance. Ether way there is a matmatical education in division and an ergonomic luster in great sounds.

The greatest cam I’ve ever heard was a guys ’69 Cutlass with a 350. We had to rebuild the trans and had a hard time getting it to shift, probably because the cam way WAY too big for the motor and made no vacuum. . . .but GAWD that thing sounded nice! Just a nice lazy lope.
