Video Bonanza: Vintage Jeep Ads of the Kaiser Era

Video Bonanza: Vintage Jeep Ads of the Kaiser Era

Jeep is one of the most enduring brand names in the history of the American auto industry. Jeep has survived multiple owners and multiple attempts to dilute a  proud brand with namby pamby weiner mobiles that have no connection to the humble yeoman-like history of the vehicle. This collection of television ads from Jeep’s Kaiser period rules! It is interesting to think about how Jeeps are marketed and sold today as opposed to back then. Today the ads feature women with long hair blowing in the breeze, no roof on, heading to a beach other other such destination. Back then, Kaiser was basically pitching these vehicles are small tractors with a variety of attachments, coolest among them is a bad ass snow blower profiled in one of the commercials below.

We prefer the way they were sold back in the day because most Jeeps sold now only go off road when their owner mistakenly over a flower bed. Check out all the awesome stuff these tough little bastards could do by clicking the play buttons! For good measure we threw a promo video from the release of the CJ5 in the early 1970s in too!

Loved the truck commercial. I’ve had a FC150 in my project yard for about 5 years now that I’ve been planning on putting a 340 in. Just might have to start it next.
