Popular Hot Rodding’s Engine Masters Challenge has become the defacto yearly slugfest for professional and otherwise hardcore engine builders every year. This year the folks at Comp Cams TV are there and will be sending video updates of the action all week. They just posted this one today and it is a great introduction to the event for anyone unfamiliar with how the contest is formatted. Teams from all over the country have descended onto the campus of the University of Northwestern Ohio with some truly gnarly engines for the competition. There is even a BangShift presence at the event with our boys John Beck, Scott Clark, Nick Smithberg, Bob Holmes, Gene Adams, and unnamed accomplices competing with their early Hemi engine that’s electronically fuel injected and packed with more trick thinking, engineering, and Hemi history than nearly any other engine like it ever built. The boys are going to be in the thick of things with that ancient piece, thanks to their hard work, dedication, and out of the box thinking.
As you’ll see in the video, there are Ford SOHC engines, big block Chevys, Fords, and other wild combos shooting for the best score this year. How does the event work? We’ll let Engine Masters MC Clarence Barnes explain in this video. We’re going to keep our eyes glued to the Comp Cams YouTube channel this week for updates, info, and scores. It is great to see the variety of competition and to see guys like Kaase and Bischoff square off against our guys with the old Hemi. This is a thinking man’s battle of the dynos!
