A couple of weeks ago we showed you what may be the most powerful Buick small block ever built. Based off of a Rodeck block and topped with some very rare billet Dart Buick cylinder heads, the engine is topped with a huge by large PSI blower. It made more than 2,000hp when running in Scott’s dad’s top alcohol dragster back in the day. He pulled it out of the mothballs and rebuilt it, tuning it down some because it will be used in the dragster you’ll see launching below for top dragster action in NHRA division one. Rules in top dragster do not allow a car to run into the 5s so a low, low six second car this will be.

If you missed the initial story about the engine and the special meaning it has to Scott Hall, click here

The short video you will see below is from the car’s initial test visit to New England Dragway. Scott said that a fuel system issue was preventing them from keeping the thing under full power for more than 400′. That being said, check out these short times!

941 60 ft

2.552 330 ft

AND WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR THE SOUND!

Wrong. That’s a small block Buick based engine. Look it up, Buick made their own engines. Completely different engine, much, much more impressive.
