If wild stuff is happening on a drag strip, Nitro Art will probably be there to film it. The guys were on the scene recently at the famed Carolina Dragway to take in some action and were rewarded with killer footage of this Mustang trying to lift off like a damned B-52 at the 330′ mark and even deeper into the run!

As you’ll see the car begins to pull a wheelie on the launch and the driver pedals it at 60′ in an attempt to get the front end down. He succeeds in bringing it down but seems to deck the throttle again just as the front suspension is rebounding from the first wheelie and it goes into another and far larger ‘stand while the car is accelerating at full throttle. Thankfully there is no one in the other lane as the Mustang lands, wipes out the timing blocks in the middle of the track and ends up on the left side after starting on the right.

This is the combo of awesome track prep, the front end being just a couple pounds light on ballast (and in reality it could be an honest “couple” of lbs the way these cars work) and a testament to a hard hooking small tire suspension setup. We hope the front end came out OK and the driver gave a full weather report back in the pits!
