Vintage Video: An 80’s Bigfoot Music Video Tribute So Bad It’s Good

Today, Brian will be trying his hardest to convince you that the cars from the year he was born (1980) were better (Well, less awful, really) than the new cars from when I was born (1984).

Rather than making due with the hand dealt to him like I did (See HERE), he decided to sucker punch me with a bunch of ringers in the form of race cars, half of which weren’t even sold in 1980!

I’ll admit that his list is pretty good, if a bit of a cop-out, but I get it: I wouldn’t want to have to write about the Chevrolet Citation either.

All of my belly-aching aside, I’m really glad that Brian went the route that he did, because if not I never would have been exposed to this gem of a Bigfoot Tribute video from 1987.

I had every intention of blasting the video for all of its cheesiness, but then a funny thing happened: I watched it a second time, and then a third. Sometime around the fourth viewing or possibly the fifth, the chorus of “Hey look out (Look out), it’s Bigfoot, king of the monster trucks” transformed from utterly ridiculous to an anthem for all that was Right and Just about the 80s, and by the sixth time around I started singing along. After I finish writing this I may be searching iTunes for the single.

So, give it a watch (Or five). If you were not convinced of Bigfoot’s royal standing among all other trucks of monstrous proportion before, you will be after witnessing the feats performed in this video to quasi-country music.

As a side note, Brian was very quick to point out that he still has this on VHS (My best guess is enshrined next to a set of lug nuts or something from Bigfoot II). Anyone else surprised by this? I didn’t think so.
