Watch A Nova Fly Through And Then Off The Course At Last Weekend’s Run To The Coast Four!

Watch A Nova Fly Through And Then Off The Course At Last Weekend’s Run To The Coast Four!

Last weekend at the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro in California the American Street Car Series held their Run To The Coast 4 event. This is one of the premier pro touring gatherings in the country and the action was hot and heavy. This video shows a really stout Nova that the guys from Speedtech built, hauling around the “road course” portion of the event. All is going well until about a minute in when the driver of the Nova loses the handle and the car spins and slides off course at a very high rate of speed. There was little in the way of damage because the driver brings the car back on the course and completes the lap. It does look pretty spectacular headed off course backwards and throwing stuff all over the place in the process!

The neat thing about this event and all of the American Street Car Series gatherings is that they really give drivers a lot of seat time. While one group is on the autocross, another is on the road course, speed stop challenge, or whatever else the guys have cooked up for that event. El Toro is a massive facility so it allows organizers to give racers plenty of room to stretch their legs. Additionally, the events attract a ton of different cars in terms of style and preparation. You’ll see full-tilt pro touring rides all the way to mild daily drivers that have been breathed on a little and everyone hangs out together and has a blast. Like we always preach, it is about using and driving your stuff. The harder the better!

Nice. Looks like he lost it going in practically a straight line? That wasn’t much of a left where he started doing aerobatics…
