Regular BangShift readers know Jamey Smith. He’s the stunt driver and gearhead that has appeared in Hot Rod and a bunch of videos on both the internet and big screens of your local cinema. Smith is really good at driving cars up on two wheels and he recently decided to try and do something no one has ever done before, which was to complete a full 2+ mile lap of Laguna Seca Raceway in California on two wheels. There are multiple factors making this very difficult. First is the whole HAVING TO DRIVE UP ON TWO WHEELS part, then there are the physical limitations of the tires, which normally do no last long with the entire weight of the car up on their sidewalls, and finally there’s the fact that the motor in the car is trying to run on an extreme angle where it can’t be all that happy for long.
Taking those three things into consideration, this first attempt at completing the full lap was certainly a long shot. Did he make it? How far did it get? Did the motor seize up? Tires explode? Watch and find out! The video is bad ass and it was made by our pal Jason Lewis.

It wasn’t his lack of skill, it seems if the car was modified he could do it. Dry sump maybe?
Good thing he stopped there. Going down the Corkscrew on 2 wheels? He would’ve rolled it. I don’t see how this could ever be possible.
