Who Left That There? This Monster Truck Tire Takes Out A Mud Racer At Dennis Anderson’s Muddy Motorsports Park

Who Left That There? This Monster Truck Tire Takes Out A Mud Racer At Dennis Anderson’s Muddy Motorsports Park

The typical monster truck tire is 66 inches tall, 43 inches wide, and weighs in somewhere between 800 and 900 pounds. they are derived from flotation tires used on farming equipment. Keep that in mind as you watch two racers make their way in the there-and-back style contest at Dennis Anderson’s Muddy Motorsports Park. Pay attention to the left side competitor. It appears that he was the second to leave the start point and was behind most of the race, though he was certainly in it if the guy in the right lane bogged down or made one mistake. Towards the end of the course there are the two jumps that drivers launch off of, and both rigs go for height and distance. But you can see just before the green and flamed Chevy lands that there is one pesky object right in the middle of the way: a monster truck tire, used to split the lanes apart,  is going to be right in the way of the Chevy. Now, when you see these tires on a monster truck, they seem kind of squishy…that’s because there might be 10 PSI of air in them when they run. Those tires act as a cushion in addition to the suspension. But there is no cushion available for a mud truck that runs this puppy over while at full speed…
