Would You Test Fate In A 1,500 Horsepower ’32 Ford? We Know One Guy That Has…

The combination for a fun 1932 Ford has been around for decades: add V8 and enjoy. Even a mellow small-block can make a Deuce perk right up into something fun, borderline sketchy. Legions of fans can’t be wrong, and we’ve seen tons of them…and will continue to see tons of them…wherever we go. A 300 horsepower Deuce is enough to get your jollies with. So why in the frozen hell would someone shove a Nelson Racing Engines-built big-cube Windsor Ford motor with twin turbos into a Deuce? We’re not talking minor power here…we’re talking “F*ck Your Bugatti” levels of performance. We’re talking about a car that doesn’t make you want to drive fast, but instead does the polar opposite: it scares you so badly that your survival instinct kicks in every time you even think about the throttle pedal. You don’t know what can or will happen, and unlike some high-power cars that calm and soothe you enough that you become courageous enough to try, this roadster leaves you happy with 1/8th throttle, mostly because you survived.

/drive’s Mike Musto willingly sat himself into this Ford (there are no seatbelts) and shot it as he drove it for the first time. These are genuine reactions compared to a post-drive review…which should be obvious as you count how many times “Holy shit!” comes flying out of his mouth. Oh, and one other thing: the brakes might be a bit sketchy. But don’t worry about something like that…

love ( most of) the look of it, build quality etc, and I’ll take their word for it that its fast with 1500 hp – but there just wasnt much sense of speed or acceleration in the video. Not blaming the car, maybe the way it was filmed? The bit of the look I’m not a fan of is the pseudo Packard thing – the radiator shell above all else. It would in my humble opinion look better with a deuce shell, one of the most iconic rad grille on anything, rather than something that looks like it was made out of filler and fiberglass in the 80’s.. but yep, overall a very nice thing. I’d love to yank that engine and put it in my Falcon coupe..

Seems like a slow car to me – is that because there’s a screaming pillow biter behind the wheel or those turbos are just for show and are empty inside?

I love the Packard grill and I’d like to see a proper petrol head drive this thing like it should be driven. So get back into your Prius, Musto and go look for a nice warm gay bar…

I like the Packard look. It sets it apart from the sea of 32 Ford grille shells. I’d like to see this car run at the drag strip

This proves that even if you can fabricate, paint, and build… doesn’t mean you have good taste. The “theme” carried throughout the car is so 1990’s…
“Oh look, I am creative I put a “V” all over the car!
