Wreckage Video: A Wild Compilation Of Crashes, Bashes, Flips, and More From The Chili Bowl Sprint Car Race!

Every Wednesday, Lucas Oil posts a cool crash video from their extensive archive of race coverage that’ accumulated over the years. This week’s is going to be hard to top as it is more than one minute of amazing wrecks and high flying crashes from the famed Chilo Bowl sprint car race which is held every year in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is an indoor race held on a very tight race track that is packed with a bunch of buzzing sprint cars. All that speed, the total lack of room, and open wheels mean that there’s no question about wrecks. It is not an “if” question, it is a “when” question. As you’ll see in this video, the “when” can happen at any time and with virtually no warning.

The one thing that always amazes us about these sprint car crashes is the height and number of flips that many of the crashing vehicles achieve. You’ll see race cars heaving ten plus feet in the air and snap rolling like fighter jets after launching off of the dirt racing surface. These are some of the toughest built cars in the world and rarely if ever do you see a cage deform or bend even after some amazing impacts. Knowing that and knowing the people who are in the decision making seats at the Lucas Oil properties, we’re 100% confident in saying that the drivers you’ll see in these wrecks walked away. They didn’t walk away happy, but they walked away. That’s the reason we can revel into destruction like this!

Epic disappointment that the Bang Shift staff and some board members don’t know that the Chili Bowl is a USAC Midget race.
