Watch Irish Rally Driver Frank Kelly Take A Mammoth Leap At The Sperrins Rally Like A BOSS!

Perhaps the most important, complicated, and intricate part of rally racing is the relationship and information transfer between driver and co-driver. It is the man in the passenger seat who is feeding the driver the course information and doing so as it corresponds to what the driver is seeing in front of him. Sometimes a co-driver will get lost in the notes and then all hell breaks loose but this time it may not have been getting lost as much as leaving a details out. That detail was the steepness of the hill that Frank Kelly was screaming towards in his rally car at the Sperrins race in Ireland.  Being that the name Frank Kelly is about as Irish as it comes, we’re guessing that he is from the country and we’re guessing that he has been rallying for some time because he treats this amazing flight of fancy like it is no big thing. He hammers the gas as soon as the car touches down.

Kelly is driving a classic Mk 2 Escort at this rally and he competes in competitions all over the world so our guess above about his level of experience seems accurate. We are sure that the guy has been on some pretty hairy rides before but he had at second or two to contemplate what was coming next after gravity had her way with the car. As he the car falls out of the sky you can hear him working the gas and as soon as it touches down he is on the deck with it again.

The best part of the video is the fact that the road looks pretty normal and just kind of like a “nothing” corner on any European rally and next thing you know there’s a car flying straight at the camera. Oh, and how impressively built is the rig that it can land and just continue on like no big thing?!
