You’re thinking, “What’s so bad about that, it just pulled a wheel off?” You need to watch the video and pay close attention because this group of freaking MENSA candidates didn’t managed to pull a wheel off, that is the WHOLE FRONT AXLE of the Cherokee turned sideways and jammed up underneath the Jeep. It got that way because apparently everyone around to watch this scene was (a) afraid to get their designer jeans dirty, grab a shovel and dig the front end of the truck out and (b) because the chosen method was to hook a chain and a strap to the front of the stuck truck and the back of a one ton diesel Ford and let the Ford driver be as judicious with the throttle as he wanted. The truly mystifying thing about this is the reaction of the kid who gets out of the truck and seems completely oblivious to what has actually and continues to happen to his truck, especially at the end.
Getting stuck in the mud sucks. While in college, several of us had four wheel drives and we’d head off into the woods of western Massachusetts to screw around in the dirt and mud. Because most of the trucks were relatively stock, we’d get stuck with frequency and the “destroy the other guy’s vehicle” method of extraction was never employed. We’d be all muddy and stink like muck by the time we were done, but a high-lift jack, a shovel, and rocks would get everyone out of trouble. Sometimes we ‘d even throw in a come-along to aid in the process. These guys are all just a bunch of lazy morons and the dude who was driving the Ford is some sort of automotive sadist.
The video is six minutes long and while not all of it is action packed, we recommend viewing the whole thing because you’ll get a true sense at just how ill-equipped everyone here was to deal with this. Oh, the quote from the kid with the Jeep at the end of the video is hilarious. You’ll know what it is when you hear it, we promise.
