Tech Tip: Here’s How A CO2 Or Electric Shifter Can Improve Your Racing Program. There’s More To It Than You Think!

Lots of folks think that a CO2 or electric shift solenoid is something that only bracket racers want or need, but that just isn’t the case. In this video from the gang at Motion Raceworks you’ll find out why. Sure, bracket racers love the consistency that you can get from using an automated shift mechanism, but there is more to it than that. If you have an electronic automatic transmission, like the 4L80e we run in the 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air Wagon, then your ECU can control the shift points as they are totally programmable. But what if you have a C6, or TH400, or some other factory automatic that isn’t computer controlled? That’s where either a CO2 or electric shift solenoid can come in handy.

But why? Just because you are lazy? Can’t drive with one hand?
