For the last 65ish years, smart automotive enthusiasts have been V8 swapping cars, trucks, and off road rigs that never came with them. In the 1970s it became popular to throw small block Chevrolets in Toyota FJ Land Cruisers and both small block Chevrolets and Fords in Jeeps. Of course AMC V8s were an option and occasional swap as well. But in today’s world there are really only two late model V8 swaps that make sense and that’s either the LS/LT or the Gen 3 Hemi. When Ian decided he was going to V8 swap his custom Jeep “Gladiator”, the only choice for him was an LS engine.
I used quotes around Gladiator because this is not a factory built Gladiator Jeep, but rather a customized JK.
Here’s the video description and info from Ian.
I always think that a V8 Swap is the right answer for any project, and when I started planning a V8 swap into my 2 Door Jeep Gladiator that is based on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler I knew that an LS would be the engine that I wanted to put under the hood. This is a complete How To that takes you step by step through the process of installing an LS engine and 4L80E transmission into your 2007-2011 Jeep Wrangler JK.
