Holley Releases New Tri-Power Systems For Small Block Chevy Engines – Three Carbs And An Iconic Look

Factory tri-power systems were on some of the most legendary muscle cars of the 1960s. Pontiac GTOs wore them with pride, some big block Corvettes had them, famed “six pack” Mopars had three deuces as well. Heck, just the term “three deuces” is enough to know how cool tri-power systems were (and are) with fans of muscle cars. Holley has given small block owners the opportunity to join the three carb club with the release of two new tri-power systems for SBC engines. The systems consist of two outer 325cfm carbs and a center 350cfm unit on top of a Weiand dual plane intake.

Using a progressive linkage, you cruise on the center carb and then really wake the engine up with you go to the floor, opening up the other two on the outside for maximum power potential. Holley is offering the systems in two variations. There’s basically shiney, and Dichromate look. The Dichromate look is a more “factory” appearing setup so you can sell the dude at the car show on the fact that this is a very rare factory option on your 1969 Camaro that no one knew about. It would kind of be fun to mess with people like that, but we’re jerks so do whatever you want.

This setup would also look great on a hot rod that had an open engine bay because all three of the 2bbls would be on full display mode. Good stuff all around.

HERE’S THE SCOOP FROM HOLLEY ON THEIR NEW SBC TRI-POWER SYSTEMS

Holley is proud to announce the release of Tri-Power intake manifold and carburetor systems for small block Chevy engines.

The world famous Holley Tri-Power Carburetor System is legendary in Chevrolet circles. It was factory equipment under the hood of the legendary big block L71 and L89 Corvettes. Holley has brought that look and performance to your small block Chevy. With the Tri-Power system, you can cruise around economically on the 350 CFM center carb or unleash all 1000 CFM at wide open throttle to truly have the best of both worlds. Systems include a dual plane medium rise 3×2 Weiand intake manifold, three Holley 2bbl carburetors (one 350 CFM center carb with electric choke and two 325 CFM outboard carbs) in either a dichromate or shiny finish, high quality steel fuel lines, progressive throttle linkage, and reusable air filters with chrome housings.

Please somebody build a series of modular intakes with separate upper and lower plenums. The are a few good intakes for AMC (I’m running an Airgap) If the tops and bottoms were bolt together modular items you could save cost by making lowers for the oddball engines, and universal uppers in dual quad, cross ram, tri-power, tunnel ram, super charger, etc. SBC guys will like it too because they could swap carbs/intake without removing the lower. Please, I’ll come help render it and volunteer my car for a mule.

For a truly iconic look they should have gone for a triangular air cleaner, just sayin’
