Have a new Mustang and want a roll bar but don’t want to hack up the interior of the car? No problem. Maximum Motorsports of San Luis Obispo, California, has constructed a bolt-in bar that is NHRA and NMRA legal for competition.
The release is below:
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIF. — Maximum Motorsports has introduced roll bars that bolt into the stock interiors of 2005-2009 Mustangs.
Joining popular Maximum Motorsports roll bars for Fox and SN95 Mustangs, these new models are offered in both six-point and four-point versions. Optionally available are removable door bars, a fixed or removable tube for harness attachment, and a diagonal brace. The six-point drag-race model, accepted by NHRA and NMRA, includes removable door bars and a pre-welded harness-mount tube. Installation does not require welding inside the car, although the roll bar may easily be welded to the chassis, if desired.
Maximum’s larger, 1-3/4”x0.134”-wall, DOM steel is far stronger than common thin-wall, seamed tubing. Backup plates under the floor “sandwich” the unibody for a safe and secure bolt-in installation. These roll bars allow retention of the stock interior panels and seats.
