It was a tough day for ADRL racer Jason Scruggs. Scruggs is one of the most successful doorslammer pilots of the last several years and has the skills and equipment to win every time out. Today the wall won.

Scruggs suffered a crash during a practice lap at Virginia Motorsports Park today. It was a bit of a freak deal as an oil line ruptured on the starting line, and despite his crew’s efforts to tell him before the green light came on, he launched. The car got into its own oil and tagged the wall shortly after the starting line. Our pal and ace lensman Roger Richards of CompetitionPlus.com captured the whole deal in a great series of photos.
