Rocket has announced that the Rocket Booster 6 will now be available both in chrome and their classic hyper shot look as well. Both Chad and I really dig the hyper shot finish and the classic five spoke design of the wheel is far superior to the typical six spoke wheels that most other companies offer for light trucks and SUVs. Seems weird to think that the addition of one spoke would change the aesthetics, but it really does. The classic five spoke wheel has been a staple of the hot rod world for decades so that’s why the Rocket Booster 6 looks so “right”.
The hyper shot look is way more than just a name. Hyper shot is a true two stage finish and the company goes the extra mile with an additional coat of clear over the entire wheel to make them easy to maintain for years and years. The chrome wheels are also manufactured to be maintenance friendly with a multi-step dipping process that means the wheels need only to be hosed off and towel wiped to maintain the shiny finish.
