There is nothing sexier than the sound of an engine at close to 10,000 rpm. In fact, yesterday we were talking with Steve Brule at Westech about some of their recent tests with Lucas Oil’s Mopar Sprint Cup Motor. It’s a screamer, and Steve and I were talking about how happy that engine gets, at the start of it’s sweet spot if you will, at around 8600 rpm. It’s awesome. And today we have a video for you that was submitted by BangShifter extraordinaire Caveman Tony. It’s a video of a 307 cubic inch NHRA Competition Eliminator engine running on the dyno from 7800-9800 rpm. Yeah, they started the pull at 7800. We want to be those guys. Watch, it’s cool.
I think I will need a new personalized license plate after Chad finishes redoing my DZ302. It will be 8600RPM!!
Semms nicer than the 307 I had in my 83 LeSabre
As good as that sounds I spent so much time in a Super Stock engine builders shop it almost got annoying! Especially when you were on the phone and a BBC was making a full dyno pull and it even deafened the person on the other end of the call!
