On my long ass drive to Ohio yesterday for the ECTA meet this weekend, I saw lots of tractors. None of them were manned with a dude with a hot chick hanging off of him, but maybe that’s a Friday thing and not a Thursday ritual. This song came out in 1998 when I was a senior in high school and while I am not much of a country music fan, I am a devout lover of tractors. In fact, when taking a tour of a cool private car collection yesterday (photos coming Monday!) I honed in on a cherry 1948 Ford 8N much to the delight of the collection’s owner. He shared some cool stories about the machine and we went about our business. One of the things I dig about rolling through Ohio, especially in more rural areas is seeing the massive tractor dealers, which don’t exist on that scale back at home in New England. Of course the fact that people have farms the size of some New England states here has something to do with that fact.
The only major flaw with this video is that the hotness of the chick is directly proportional to the weird dancing and flopping around of a young Kenny Chesney. The song is a catchy tune though and I’ll be humming it as I pass by the humongo Case dealer on the way to the Wilmington Mile ECTA course in the morning.
