(Photos by Charles Wickam) – In what has become a bit of a Thanksgiving weekend tradition here at BangShift, Charles Wickam has sent along a gallery of photos from the 2013 Houston Autorama load in day. The Houston Autorama marks the first show in the vast Autorama season which spans from Texas all the way to Canada and as far east and west as Massachusetts and Utah respectively. While the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals was last weekend we feel like the beginning of the Autorama tour marks the real beginning of the indoor car show season across the country. These shows help lots of us get through the winter blues before we’re able to hammer on our stuff again and there are some biggies in the series like the Detroit Autorama where the vaunted Ridler Award is presented to a deserving hot rod. Expect full coverage of that later this winter.
So Charles snuck into the 2013 Houston Autorama setup day and shot this great gallery of photos giving details and looks of some of the neatest stuff inside the exposition center where the show is being held. You’ll see lots of polishing kits out and being put to work as display cars were touched up for the last time before the public flooded in and gawked at the cool stuff. The variety is cool as there are dune buggies, drag cars, total show queens, bikes, and more.
