This video is cool on a couple of levels. For starters we have a legit big money grudge race happening right in front of us. There’s the Mustang known as Apocalypse and the Regal known as Fade2Black. These are two KILLER cars from their respective parts of the country and somehow they ended up getting hold of each other and practically wearing out the satellites with phone calls to get this race set up. We have seen videos post race with the money being handed over and there are STACKS and bundles of money changing hands. This isn’t about a freaking list on the Discovery Channel, kids. No, this is about cold hard Jack.
The second reason why this video rules is because of the huge nitrous engines powering these cars. You can hear them in the burnout and staging process. Motors that have this kind of gnarly sound are very large in displacement and make huge amounts of horsepower. When you see what kind of header flames these bastards throw, you will be wondering if they were burning fuel or gasoline. Thumping, rumbling, screaming piles of awesome they both are.
The third reason this is an awesome video? Look at the crowd. Not the size of the crowd but the crowd itself. You have people of every shape, color, and size gathered to watch this deal, throw some money down and be a part of it. In today’s world there are few activities that bring the types of crowds that drag racing does. Diversified since the beginning, the sport is an open door to anyone who wants to come in.
Sure, you may not like grudge racing because of the gambling, language, etc but at the end of the day, these guys took it out on each other between the walls of a track, in front of a crowd made up of people from all walks of life. All things considered, that is pretty awesome.
The end is getting closer and closer when Bangshift jumps with both feet on the POLITICAL CORRECTNESS bandwagon. Who cares how “Diverse” the crowd is and by pointing this out you are racist yourself implying that minorities are unusual at other drag racing events and only attend these because there is gambling .
