Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop Garage Night 2014 – Awesome Cars, Vintage Engines, BS Approved!

Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop Garage Night 2014 – Awesome Cars, Vintage Engines, BS Approved!

(Words and photos by Joe Grippo) – So my brother and I road tripped up to the Saratoga Springs, New York area last weekend to party with the Rolling Bones crew at their annual Garage Night shindig. The bones crew of Ken Schmidt and Keith Cornell host this Open House/Party every year in the cool barn where they put together some of the most evil and nasty early Ford hot rods to be found anywhere.

Tons of food and adult beverages were consumed while we got upclose and personal with the latest Bones projects. Neat old powerplants sit around the shop awaiting their turn in the frame rails of killer chopped coupes in varying stages of completion. Y-Blocks, Hemis, Nailheads and FlatHeads out the ass! The barn walls are lined with vintage parts, cool artwork and awards from all over the country. Known for their road going and Bonneville exploits, Ken, Kieth and the gang are serious craftsman with amazing metalshaping skills. The Rolling Bones client list includes some heavy hitters, some of whom fly in every year from warm, sunny California to party the night away in cold and snowy Greenfield Canter, New York. Good times!

(Editor’s note: We’re firing Grippo if he fails to alert the BangShift eastern command center of the day of this event in 2015. It looks like an awesome time and you’ll freak when you see what they have in this shop for components and builds!)

Are the ‘ Rolling Bones ‘ crew capable of doing anything that wouldn’t be either cool … or BS [ Bangshift to be clear ] ‘ approved ?

    I doubt it 🙂

Years ago I got a letter from them, “Help us get our roadster to the Salt” or some such. Somebody said they knew them and they were good guys, so I sent them $25.
Some time thereafter I got a hat in the mail (?)
    Looks like they’re really hurting.
Me, I can’t afford to take my junk to the Salt these days, so I STAY HOME.
