While Chad has showed us some awesome Pro Touring cars with his galleries from the Run to Music City event, we found car that falls on the other end of the spectrum with this wild, blown, 1956 Ford Fairlane. The car appears to be really well done. Heck, even the graphic paint job, which we normally hate works pretty well on the flanks of the shoebox Ford.
The motor in this car is a true monster. 598ci of big block Chevy wearing a large by huge 14-71 blower. Why so much supercharger? We asked Larry Larson that back in the day when he was running the huffed 555ci BBC engine in his Nova and his logic was that the big blower can turn slower and move the same volume of air that a smaller blower would be working harder and making more heat to move. That, and with the switch of a pulley he could defy the laws of quantum physics. We believe the engine builder was thinking along the same lines here.
The transmission is a highly modified Turbo 400, capable of handling up to 1500hp, according to the selller.
Sure it is gaudy, and in comparison to a modern Pro Touring car it is crude and rude, but let’s be honest, we all feel a little crude and rude once in a while, right?
(For the record, this thing would head straight to the body guy if we bought it. The color of choice would be Darth Vader black…OOGA BOOGA!)
I’m OK with the paint – but that BBC HAS to go! A call to John Kaase and I’m sure an appropriate mill could be designed and ordered. An FE would be best but a 460-based bullet would get it done.

It’s neer 600ci and has a blower, brand does not matter!
