Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California is one of our favorite places. We broadcast the March Meet and California Hot Rod Reunion live from the track. As it turns out, photographer Liam Garritty loves this place as much as we do. He shoots lots of stuff at the track and shared his personal photo highlight reel from the 2011 season with us. Liam’s name will surely be gracing the BangShift pages again, because his photos are 100% bad ass. His family has a long history in the sport of drag racing and that ingrained love of straight line competition shows through in his photos.
One of the coolest things that Chad and I get to do here at BangShift is to highlight the work of photographers from across the country and after seeing this gallery, you will see why. Liam is a talented dude and these shots are really cool. Keep your eyes peeled for more stuff from Liam in the future!

Me and my brother were just talking about going to Atco Dragway and watching the Fuel cars get pushed to the end of the track then turned around ,fired up on the way back then turn around agian and then stage. This was 1969 , we saw all the big name rails and funny cars of the time . Great times.
