While we love tiny little engines around here, especially those that are hand whittled or designed in someone’s basement, we do understand that there’s more than one way to get your tiny power. Perhaps the coolest is the famed Conley Stinger V8 engine which has been around for some time and can be delivered to your door in running condition! We have seen these in scale models of monster trucks, scale race cars, and on engine run stands as well. They can be had in naturally aspirated or supercharged form and you’ll see both of those examples in this video. Compare the sound of the zoomie equipped NA engine and the zoomie equipped blower engine in the little dragster. There’s plenty of auditory differences to key in on.
We love the fact that the Conley engine kind of established the fact that there was indeed a market for someone to manufacture engines that would fit on someone’s office desk and that could be used to power small vehicles. Imagine explaining that business plan to your wife. “Yes, honey I am going to build tiny engine from scratch and sell them….” we know that would be a tough conversation in our houses.
Here’s a bunch of little V8 engines making V8 noises and each one of them makes us smile for a different reason. You don’t have to like this, you are more than welcome to have an incorrect opinion.
