Watching The Pakistani Truck Guys Rebuild A Clutch Disc With Simple Tools Is A Reminder Of How Things Used To Be!

They are No McLeod or Centerforce, but these dudes still get some stuff done. Watch this video and see just how a sprung hub clutch disc is stripped, and relined with new clutch material in a shop using no trick tools. In fact it is all done by hand except for a grinder and a drill press. I wouldn’t trust it at 7,500 rpm, but I bet it isn’t bad in a truck that is hauling stuff around town. In fact, this is probably exactly how it would have been done at a local repair shop in the 1940s, 50s, and 60’s in local repair shops all around the United States. Hell I don’t know if you can even buy clutch relining kits here in the States anymore. I will tell you that watching this dude work on the ground makes me want to buy him a workbench. Does Amazon deliver to Pakistan?

Other than the fact that he waits to clean this thing up after doing the rebuild, and I would have probably wanted to give it a quick blast and a fog of paint before installing the new friction material, I give this dude a A+. Oh, and the video is 10 minutes long but in it it says that it only takes him 22 minutes to do this whole job. Wow.
